Each year, the Gloucester, Cumberland, Salem School Districts Joint Insurance Fund (GCSSD JIF) rewards the extraordinary efforts of member districts for their commitment to provide a safe and healthy environment for students, staff and community by actively participating in risk management programs. In particular, we recognized the challenges faced by school district employees who carried out their responsibilities while adjusting to the new normal that has become the hallmark of 2020.
In all, twenty (20) member school districts were recognized and received awards totaling $90,500.
• Elk Township School District, Woodbury Heights Board of Education, and Salem County Vocational Technical School District were recognized as Safety District of the Year for their ongoing contribution to safety efforts, earning an additional $2,500 reward.
• Angela Harper, Transportation Coordinator from Gateway Regional High School received the Safety Star of the Year Award for going above and beyond on a daily basis, and for always lending a helping hand to embody the spirit of safety.
